After killing an older woman in a nursing home, Ruth befriends the woman’s neighbour and a strange relationship develops between the two women. In their conversations Ruth reveals her life as a contract killer. Based on the real life story of Ruth K., codename for a Canadian hit woman from New Brunswick who according to a 2004 FBI report, killed numerous people all over the Eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida . She was particularly adept at "burking" elderly patients in rest homes and employed the garrotte and revolver. Rumours have it that she threw in the towel in 2008 after the disappearance of her handler - a bail bonds operator in Maine.
